2650 Antique scrimshaw tooth engraved on obverse with a classical full length figure of Hope. She is holding the pole of an American flag at her left and the chain of an anchor with her right hand There is a seven pointed star above her. On the reverse there is a a fully rigged 3-deck ship of the line flying a pennant from her main mast and an unidentified flag from the foremast. Mid 19th century. 5 1/2 in. high.
