This beautiful antique scrimshaw baleen busk is fancifully engraved on the obverse with hearts, foliage and a radiant sun face. The reverse bears a romantic poem; "Freely take this gift of mine, The gift and giver both are thine.....Wear it for the givers sake, And keep it for thine own." In excellent condition. 12 1/2 in. long. 19th C.
