The center or guard blade is sharply pointed and there is a wedge at the juncture between the shoulders of the barbed tines and the socket, forged to secure them. There is a wedge forged at the juncture between the shoulders and the socket to secure them. Two holes are drilled into a 3-inch tang extending from the socket for attachment to a pole.
