Antique scrimshaw whalebone busk, romantically engraved in three panels. At the top is a 3/4 portrait of a young woman inscribed "Amigo". In the center is a full figure of a young lady inside a courtyardstrumming a guitar, with a gentleman looking on over a railing which separates them. The lower panel shows another young lady with the word "LOVE" underneath. The entire busk is nicely embellished with floral and decorative motifs. 19th C. 12 1/2 in. long with some warpage.
