This is a nautical wood-framed blown glass sand timer. It runs for 21 seconds. The turned columns of the frame are pegged through to the top and base. American, 19th C. 4 1/2 in. tall, 2 3/4 in. diameter.

A label affixed to the bottom ascribes a provenance to Capt. Thaxter, Quincy, Mass.
