14483 Coin silver tablespoon from Nantucket, monogrammed “D”, with hallmark of James S. Kelley, Nantucket. Very good condition.
James S.Kelley was a retailer on Nantucket during the first half of the 19th C. Much of the silver that he sold was made by Gorham in Providence, with the engraving done on Nantucket. (See a discussion of The Kelleys in Carpenter, The Decorative Arts and Crafts of Nantucket.)
