14460 This scarce First Edition of Obed Macy's History of Nantucket was published in 1835 in Boston by Hilliard, Gray & Co. and includes a classic first-hand account of the Nantucket whale fishery. It retains the original 2 plates of the island map and a sperm whale. Original cloth binding with minor repair to top and bottom edges of the spine. A very nice copy with minor foxing. A penciled inscription on the front flyleaf indicates purchase of the book on Nantucket in 1872.
