14429 Antique Ivory Scrimshaw Ditty Box

This is a very nice, small, delicate, sailor-made ivory ditty box. It is pinned and fastened with 4 rounded fingers on the box and one on the lid. The top and bottom are wooden. The box is in very good condition with two minor cracks in the cover banding. Oval, 4 5/8th in. x 2 3/4 in. x 2 1/4 in. high. 19th C.
