This antique scrimshaw walking stick has a whale ivory carved Turk's knot knob with circular inlay of wood and two tortoise shell bands. The tapered carved whalebone shaft is faceted for 3 inches with 4 diamond shaped tortoise shell inlays (one missing) above 2 carved Turk's knots at either end of a 6 3/4 in. rope turned section followed by a 10 1/2 in fluted section and a 9 in. plain bone section at the tip with metal ferrule. 32 3/4 in. overall length. 19th C. Very good condition.
