Pair of framed prints, "The Ship Owner" and "The Ship Owner's Lady" by Edgar Jenney. These delightful hand colored prints by Edgar Whitfield Jenney were done in 1937. The lady is shown in front of the Jared Coffin House on Nantucket and the famous Rotch warehouse is seen behind the prosperous gentleman. Archivally framed. 9 1/4 in. x 13 in, each, sight.
Jenney retired as an architect and moved to Nantucket to paint and teach painting. He was energetic in preserving Nantucket historic houses. After he died in 1939 the Metropolitan Museum honored him with a show of 45 of his works. See: Robert diCurcio, Art on Nantucket.
